Litigation Attorney

  • Salary: $75,000 – $125,000 per year
  • Location: Santa Rosa, CA / Los Angeles, CA / Remote Flexibility

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review case files and assess legal and factual issues for discovery, motion, trial, and settlement purposes
  • Prepare and respond to demand letters
  • Draft and respond to pleadings
  • Be highly proficient with all discovery tools and able to effectively propound and respond to discovery
  • Draft and argue motions
  • Appear regularly in court proceedings
  • Maintain accurate calendar for court dates, filing and response deadlines, and other events relevant to the practice
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Manage relationships with clients, court personnels, colleagues, and opposing counsels
  • Work with non-attorney staff to effectuate client needs

Qualifications:

  • Active member of the California State Bar
  • Minimum of 5+ years prior experience in litigation
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, take and provide direction, as applicable, with other firm members
  • Be Deadline oriented
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Results-oriented team player
  • Finely tuned analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze a multitude of documents including pleadings, client communications, and a variety of legal documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
  • Have valid California driver’s license with ability to drive to court and other events
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access), Gmail, MacOS, One Legal, Rapid Legal, LawToolBox; ability to learn Case Management and Document Management systems
